My ear has been plugged for 3 weeks!?
I have been on the web and seen other posts and have tried most of the suggestions aside from the cigar and the ear candle.
This started with a severe cold which went into my left ear. I went to the ER and got antibiotics for an ear infection but the ear stayed plugged. I went back last week and received two different drops for a “middle ear infection”. I took them but my ear is still plugged. I have tried garlic olive oil, earwax removal kit, hydrogen peroxide, hot water, steam room, yawning, blowing out with my nose plugged, alcohol and vinegar…
ALL to no avail…
My next step is to go to an ENT doctor. I’m afraid to read any more posts on the web as some people say their ears have been plugged for years.
I’m getting an echo effect and sounds seem louder if they come from the direction of my left ear– THIS IS MADDENING!
Can anyone offer any other solutions or reassurances?
That echo effect that you are noticing can be as a result of a condition called tinnitus (ringing in the ear).
As for your ears being plugged up, this could be an indication of something going on with your sinuses similar to like a head cold (an example only).
I would recommend seeing the ENT as soon as possible.
